In August 2008 Kildare was horse-drawn from Wolverhampton to the IWA National at Autherley 2008, down the Wolverhampton 21 Locks.
The Horseboating Society was working in partnership with Friends of President for the first time. We were honouring the old custom of working the butty by horsepower whilst the motor boat (in this case the steam boat President) was worked independently down the locks.
These photos show boathorse Buddy towing Kildare down the Wolverhampton Locks on the way to the Festival.
