On 30th October and 1st November 2009 demonstrations of horseboating took place on the Cromford Canal in Derbyshire.

On the one mile route, in some places, the canal is becoming very silted up and the vegetation is narrowing the channel. It is feared by the Friends of the Cromford Canal that unless dredging takes place soon, there will be no horseboating in 2010. Photo: Mike Kelley
