Gallery 43 – Horseboating at Stone, 2012

October 2012:

The unpowered narrowboat Ilford was horse-drawn along part of the Trent and Mersey Canal in October to arrive at an informal gathering of working boats at Stone.

Ilford was towed from Newcastle Road Lock in Stone to Roger Fuller’s Boatyard, above Lime Kiln Lock.

Ilford was steered by Roger and was pulled by boat horse Danny.
